August 28th, 2014 Newsletter

August is Membership and Extension Month

Meals on Wheels:  September 3rd - Duane, September 10th - April, September 17th - Tom Stephenson

Birthdays:  August 29th - Denis

Anniversaries:  August 28th - Tom & Marilyn, September 3rd - Ray & Marlene

We were blessed with a lot of guests at our August 21st meeting.

Here is Vance welcoming Nancy Styles and Gordon Liddle.
Ray was happy to have his son Kevin visiting.
Even though Gordon is a past member and is loved by all of us, we still made him pay!
Nancy's presentation was on Tatagwa Parkway.  Our club was an original supporter of the Parkway and continues to be involved 23 years later.
Rike attended the meeting and introduced her parents Martin and Claudia.  Martin is a Rotary member in their hometown of Parchim, Germany.
Rike updated us on the year since she was our inbound student and also talked about her plans for the future.
Our 50/50 is now down differently.  First of all, you want to be drawn and then you want to draw the Queen of Hearts.  The pot will continue to build until that card is selected.
On Friday and Saturday Rotary members sold tickets downtown.  Have you sold yours?  People are willing to buy if you approach them.
How well do you know your fellow Rotarians?
Last week's question:  What year did you join Rotary?  The  answer is on the back of your badge.
This week's question:  Who has sold the most Golf Ball Drop tickets?
